The Library is prepared to offer customized online research and instruction services during remote learning. There are a variety of ways to “embed” librarians into online courses. Following are some possibilities for the summer:
- Library Research Guides
- Created in collaboration with faculty, focusing on electronic resources relevant to their course.
- Online Library Instruction
- Asynchronous or synchronous library instruction, designed in collaboration with faculty.
- Research Skills and Library Services for First Years
- List of topics include: Getting to the Know the Library During Online Learning, Developing Your Research Strategy, Academic Integrity and Citation Management, How to Get Research Help
- Tutorials and Learning Tools
- Research-based activities, assignments, or projects designed jointly by faculty and librarians. These should be highly customized to support broader learning goals of the course and information literacy among students. Example: Wikipedia Article Assignment.
- Library Resources on Course Pages
- Librarians will consult with faculty to select relevant library resources to link to their course page. This collaboration can continue throughout a semester as the needs of the students change.
