Online Teaching and Learning Resource Guide For Faculty

This guide is intended to help faculty learn about library services and resources available during remote learning

Mindmapping

A mind map is a diagram used to visually organize information. A mind map is hierarchical and shows relationships among pieces of the whole. In education, mind mapping can help students take notes and professors teach course material. One of the most common types of mind map is a large brainstorming web that starts with a central word or idea and then branches out into related subjects.

Word Gardens

Word gardens are simple visualizations composed of words where the size of the word indicates the frequency with which the word was submitted into a program by members of your audience.  Word gardens can be used to gather feedback and prompt discussion, and can also be used as an online brainstorming tool.

Polls

Polls give presenters the capability to receive real-time feedback from their audience.  In a class setting, they can be used to test knowledge, prompt class participation, or direct discussion.
