How to donate used books

A guide on where to donate used books.

The Student Book Share

In partnership with the Committee on Diversity, the Library provides a space for a Student Book Share. If you no longer need books you have purchased for your course work, please bring them to the library (not the Salvage Drive) so they can be used by other students. In the early weeks of the fall semester, we will send another email to students suggesting they come to the Library to look at the donated books and take what they need. Please drop off your books in the Reading Room, located to the left of the main entrance when entering the building.

Send any questions to costerday@sarahlawrence.edu

Donating books to the Esther Raushenbush Library

The Sarah Lawrence College Library only accepts donations from students, faculty, and staff in the following categories:

  • BOOKS (in good condition)
  • DVDs/Blu Rays (in good condition)
  • ZINES (in good condition)

All donations are processed by Library staff after they are received. Staff review your donation to see if there are any items that should be added to the SLC Library collection.
